Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks Musing # 13.

So, fans and family!

I have been encouraged to put my Musings in a blog format, so here goes.

Shall we say it's a Lucky 13?

Rather than get all wordy on you, I think I will use this post just to send you some odds and ends pictures, mostly because I need to know how this works AND I would like your comments on if you prefer it this way or the old email attachment way.

This is actually the view from our bedroom window---green, green, green!  The only sound is usually bird song as well as the rushing of the nearby stream.
I brought multiple crystals and sun catchers so on sunny days there are rainbows!
This picture was taken at a 5 year olds birthday party...
and here is the future of Bhutan! In case you can't see it, the kid in the blue shirt is holding an i-phone and playing games on it....
This is from Royal Thimphu College, where Rick and I live.
The tower is called an UTSE.  On the third floor is a Buddhist altar, used for various ceremonies.  The 2nd floor is a meditation room.  A lama comes every Monday to guide whoever comes in a meditation practice.  I am learning to "sit"!

I took this picture just two days ago when the Utse was bathed in afternoon sun, just before a storm arrived.  It's hard to take a bad picture here.

We can see this utse from our apartment windows.

Who is the scariest one in this picture??
This is a painting inside the entrance to Zhiwa Ling, the 5 star resort that we have stayed twice now (while I taught the staff).  That is a protective demon, for sure!
When asked what caption I should put on this picture, Rick said:

I won.

Men!

Penis' are painted everywhere -and while most people think they are for fertility, they are really to protect you against evil gossip.
Hummm, one has to wonder about that connection.

Last but not least---
Truth was that indeed the road did sink, rather ominously!

So, enough for now---let's see how this goes and if you like it better or not.
Comments are welcome.

But it's time for me to go make dinner.  Life and laundry happen no matter where you are!

Love always and always,
p
